Custom Die Forging of Carbon Steel is our Specialty

Summit Tool Company’s forging expertise is in carbon steel and selected 41XX alloy grades. Material sizes range from 9/16” to 1-1/4” diameter for upsetting and 7/16” to 2-1/4” for drop hammer forgings. Optimal press work is from 7/16” to approximately 1-1/4” diameter. Our custom forgings are small to medium closed-die, and typically weigh between 1 pound and 11 pounds.

Heat Treating

Our on-site heat treating facility provides normalizing, tempering and annealing in post-forging treatment to meet your strength, hardness and machinability specifications. Other services include rust prevention coating, hardness testing, straightening, and part number serialization.
